Advacort Cream 0.1% contains the active ingredient Methylprednisolone Aceponate, a potent corticosteroid formulated for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, and neurodermatitis. This cream helps reduce redness, swelling, itching, and irritation, providing rapid relief from inflamed and irritated skin.

Active Ingredient (Generic)

Methylprednisolone Aceponate 0.1% – A topical corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation and allergic reactions in the skin, reducing erythema, edema, oozing, and pruritus.

Indications / Uses

Advacort Cream 0.1% is recommended for:

Atopic dermatitis (endogenous eczema, neurodermatitis)

Contact eczema

Degenerative or dyshidrotic eczema

Vulgar eczema in adults and children

Relief of itchiness, burning, and skin irritation caused by inflammatory dermatoses

Mechanism of Action

Reduces skin inflammation by inhibiting immune-mediated responses.

Relieves itching, burning, and pain associated with eczema flare-ups.

Prevents fluid accumulation and skin oozing, promoting faster healing.

Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children: Apply a thin layer once daily on the affected area.

Maximum duration: 12 weeks for adults and 4 weeks for children.

Follow your physician’s instructions carefully.

Side Effects

Common:

Mild burning or itching at the application site

Uncommon:

Dryness, redness (erythema), blisters, folliculitis, tingling, or contact dermatitis

Rare:

Skin infections (bacterial or fungal), pus formation, acne, thinning of the skin (atrophy), swelling of small blood vessels

Other Possible Effects:

Increased hair growth, stretch marks, perioral dermatitis, skin discoloration, blurred vision

Inform your doctor if using other topical or systemic medications.

Precautions

Avoid applying on large skin areas or for prolonged periods due to risk of systemic corticosteroid absorption.

Do not use on infected, weeping, ulcerated, or rosacea-affected skin, or in skin folds and atrophic skin areas.

Children and elderly patients may be more sensitive to side effects.

Warnings

Infections: If bacterial or fungal infection develops, additional treatment is required. Discontinue if the infection worsens.

Misuse: Using Advacort Cream for non-prescribed conditions may mask symptoms and hinder proper diagnosis.

Vision: Contact your physician if blurred vision or visual disturbances occur.
