Clobederm Ointment 0.05% 15g – Potent Topical Corticosteroid for Eczema and Skin Disorders

Clobederm Ointment 0.05% is a prescription-strength topical corticosteroid containing Clobetasol Propionate, designed to effectively manage severe inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It helps reduce redness, swelling, itchiness, and irritation, offering rapid relief for chronic and relapsing skin conditions.

Prescription Requirement

Requires Prescription: Yes

Generic Name

Clobetasol Propionate – a super-potent topical corticosteroid that binds to glucocorticoid receptors in the skin, regulating gene expression to suppress inflammation and stimulate anti-inflammatory protein synthesis.

Indications / Uses

Clobederm Ointment is indicated for the treatment of:

Frequently relapsing eczema

Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis; for single lesions)

Lichen planus (itchy reddish-purple bumps on wrists, forearms, or legs)

Discoid lupus erythematosus (chronic scarring and photosensitive skin lesions)

Dermatitis and other steroid-resistant inflammatory skin conditions

Mechanism of Action

Clobetasol propionate binds to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, activating gene expression that produces anti-inflammatory proteins.

Inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory mediators, reducing erythema, edema, and pruritus.
