Inflammatory skin conditions responsive to topical corticosteroids
It is known for being strong yet rapidly effective, especially when milder treatments have failed.
How Cutivate Cream Works
Fluticasone propionate reduces inflammation by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins). These proteins block the release of arachidonic acid, thereby decreasing the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Fluticasone is highly lipophilic and has a strong affinity for glucocorticoid receptors, ensuring targeted action in the skin. It has minimal activity on progesterone, estrogen, androgen, and mineralocorticoid receptors, reducing unwanted hormonal effects. The glucocorticoid receptor complex has a half-life of approximately 10 hours, contributing to sustained anti-inflammatory action.
