What is Dermovate-NN Ointment Used For?
Dermovate-NN Ointment is a triple-action topical medication used to treat severe inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial or fungal infection. It is especially effective in infected eczema and infected psoriasis, where inflammation, bacterial growth, and fungal overgrowth may occur simultaneously.
Indications
Dermovate-NN Ointment is indicated for:
Eczema with secondary infection
Psoriasis with suspected bacterial or candidal infection
Steroid-responsive dermatoses at risk of infection
Severe inflammatory skin conditions where antibacterial and antifungal coverage is required
How Dermovate-NN Ointment Works
Clobetasol propionate suppresses inflammation by activating glucocorticoid receptors, leading to reduced redness, swelling, itching, and immune response in the skin. It also causes vasoconstriction and reduces collagen synthesis.
Neomycin sulphate provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against susceptible bacteria.
Nystatin delivers targeted antifungal action against Candida species.
Together, these components provide anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal protection, making Dermovate-NN suitable for inflamed skin conditions that are infected or likely to become infected.
