Eczemus Ointment 0.1% (10g) is a prescription-only, non-steroidal topical immunomodulator containing Tacrolimus. It is used for the short-term and intermittent long-term treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema), especially in patients who do not respond adequately to topical corticosteroids or where steroid use is not advisable.

Uses / Indications
Eczemus Ointment is indicated for:
Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)
Long-term eczema management where steroid-free therapy is preferred

It helps control itching, redness, and inflammation without causing skin thinning.
How Eczemus Ointment Works
Tacrolimus works by inhibiting calcineurin, which suppresses the activation of T-cells and the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils in the skin. Unlike topical steroids, tacrolimus does not affect collagen synthesis, making it suitable for sensitive areas such as the face, neck, and skin folds.
Dosage & Administration
Apply a thin layer twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart
Use only as directed by your physician
Wash hands before and after application unless treating the hands.
Possible Side Effects
Very common and common side effects may include:
Burning sensation at the application site
Pruritus (itching)
Erythema (redness)
Increased skin sensitivity
Tingling or warmth of the skin
Alcohol intolerance, such as facial flushing or skin irritation after alcohol consumption
These reactions are usually mild to moderate and tend to decrease with continued use.

Erythromycin
Itraconazole
Ketoconazole
Fluconazole
Calcium channel blockers
Cimetidine

When Not to Use Eczemus Ointment
Do not use if:
You have a known hypersensitivity to tacrolimus or any ingredient in the formulation
Precautions
Do not apply other topical medications to the same area within 2 hours of using Eczemus Ointment
