Imunol Ointment 10g is a prescription-strength topical immunomodulator containing Tacrolimus, specifically formulated for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in both children and adults. It is highly effective in reducing inflammation, redness, and itchiness associated with chronic eczema without affecting skin collagen.

Generic Name

Tacrolimus – a topical calcineurin inhibitor that suppresses inflammatory mediators released by mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils, helping control eczema flare-ups.

Indications / Uses

Imunol Ointment is indicated for:

Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)

Chronic or recurrent eczema in children and adults

Short-term or intermittent long-term therapy to relieve itching, redness, and inflammation

Mechanism of Action

Inhibits inflammatory mediator release from skin immune cells (mast cells, basophils, eosinophils).

Reduces pruritus, erythema, and skin irritation without affecting collagen synthesis, preserving skin structure.

Dosage & Administration

Apply a thin layer twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart.

Avoid applying other topical preparations on the same area within 2 hours.

Always follow your physician’s directions.

Side Effects

Very Common:

Burning sensation at the application site

Itchiness (pruritus)

Redness (erythema)

Common:

Increased skin sensitivity

Tingling sensation

Other Observations:

Alcohol intolerance (facial flushing or irritation after alcohol intake) may occur.

Drug Interactions

Possible interactions with Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Fluconazole, Calcium Channel Blockers, and Cimetidine.

Inform your physician about any ongoing or recent medications.

Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Minimize sunlight and sunlamp exposure during treatment.

Not intended for oral use.

If allergic (hypersensitive) to Tacrolimus or any other ingredient in the formulation.

Warnings

Limit sun exposure to prevent skin damage during treatment.

Avoid applying on infected or broken skin.

Do not ingest; topical use only.
