Advantan Fatty Ointment 0.1% contains the active ingredient Methylprednisolone Aceponate, a potent topical corticosteroid designed to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching associated with eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions. It is highly effective for atopic dermatitis, contact eczema, neurodermatitis, and dyshidrotic eczema in both adults and children.

Indications / Uses

Advantan Fatty Ointment is recommended for:

Atopic dermatitis (endogenous eczema, neurodermatitis)

Eczema in children

Contact eczema

Degenerative, dyshidrotic, or vulgar eczema

It helps relieve redness (erythema), swelling (oedema), fluid oozing, and itchiness, restoring comfort and improving skin appearance.

How Advantan Fatty Ointment Works

Reduces inflammatory response in the skin by suppressing immune-mediated reactions.

Relieves itching, burning, and pain associated with inflamed skin areas.

Helps repair skin barrier function and accelerates healing of dry, cracked, or irritated skin.

Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children: Apply a thin layer once daily.

Maximum duration: 12 weeks for adults, 4 weeks for children.

Apply only to affected areas and follow your physician’s instructions for safe use.

Side Effects

Common:

Burning sensation, mild itching at application site

Uncommon:

Skin dryness, redness (erythema), blisters, folliculitis, tingling, or allergic reactions (contact dermatitis)

Rare:

Fungal or bacterial skin infections, pus formation, thinning of skin (atrophy), acne, small blood vessel swelling

Other Possible Effects:

Stretch marks, perioral dermatitis (upper lip/chin), skin discoloration, increased hair growth, blurred vision

Precautions

Avoid use on large skin areas or prolonged treatment, as corticosteroids can be absorbed systemically.

Do not apply on infected skin, weeping lesions, rosacea, acne-prone areas, or atrophic skin.

Warnings
