Benclin Gel 10g – Clindamycin & Benzoyl Peroxide Gel for Acne Treatment

Prescription Required: Yes
Generic Names: Clindamycin Phosphate, Benzoyl Peroxide
Dosage Form: Topical Gel
Indication: Acne Vulgaris

Product Overview

Benclin Gel 10g is a prescription-strength combination acne treatment formulated with Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, and Benzoyl Peroxide, a potent antibacterial and keratolytic agent. It is used for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, helping to reduce acne-causing bacteria, inflammation, and blocked pores.

How Benclin Gel Works

This dual-action formulation targets acne through complementary mechanisms:

Clindamycin: Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, effectively reducing Cutibacterium (Propionibacterium) acnes responsible for acne inflammation

Benzoyl Peroxide: Acts as an oxidizing agent with bactericidal and keratolytic properties, helping to remove dead skin cells and prevent pore blockage

Together, they reduce inflammatory lesions, control bacterial resistance, and improve overall skin clarity.

Uses and Benefits

Effective treatment for mild to moderate acne vulgaris

Reduces inflammatory pimples, papules, and pustules

Helps prevent new acne breakouts

Controls acne-causing bacteria and excess keratin buildup

Dosage and Administration

Adults: Apply a thin layer once daily in the evening

Cleanse and dry the skin thoroughly before application

Children: Not recommended

Use strictly as directed by your physician or dermatologist

Possible Side Effects

Mild local skin irritation (redness, dryness, peeling)

Drug Interactions

Do not use with erythromycin-containing products due to possible antagonism

If combination therapy is required, apply products at different times of the day

Concurrent use with topical sulphonamides may cause temporary yellow or orange discoloration of skin or facial hair
