Betnovate-N Lotion 60ml

Betnovate-N Lotion 60ml
Betnovate-N Lotion 60ml – Potent Corticosteroid & Antibiotic for Eczema and Skin Infections
Betnovate-N Lotion combines the topical corticosteroid Betamethasone Valerate with the broad-spectrum antibiotic Neomycin Sulphate, making it highly effective for treating inflammatory and infected skin conditions. This medicated lotion is primarily used for eczema, psoriasis, and steroid-responsive dermatoses complicated by bacterial infections.
How Betnovate-N Lotion Works
Betamethasone Valerate: A potent corticosteroid that reduces redness, itching, and inflammation by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators in the skin. It provides rapid relief from pruritic and inflamed skin conditions.
Neomycin Sulphate: A broad-spectrum antibiotic that targets common bacteria causing skin infections, preventing secondary infections in compromised skin.
Indications
Eczema: Inflammatory and itchy skin patches
Psoriasis: Less responsive lesions requiring potent corticosteroid therapy
Bacterial skin infections: Secondary infections associated with dermatoses
Other steroid-responsive inflammatory dermatoses
Dosage & Administration
Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily for up to 7 days, or as directed by your physician.

Side Effects
Common: Local hypersensitivity reactions such as redness, itching, or irritation
Uncommon / Rare: HPA axis suppression, Cushingoid features (moon face, central obesity), delayed growth in children, osteoporosis, glaucoma, cataract, hyperglycemia, hypertension, skin thinning
Prolonged use or application over large areas may increase the risk of systemic corticosteroid effects
Precautions & Warnings
Do not use in children under 2 years of age
Avoid applying on large areas for long periods due to systemic absorption risk
Use caution with occlusive dressings; clean skin before applying a fresh dressing
Monitor for allergic reactions in patients with hypersensitivity to corticosteroids or neomycin
Children absorb proportionally more corticosteroids and may be more susceptible to adverse effects
Discontinue use if severe diarrhea or abdominal cramps occur
Drug Interactions
CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir, itraconazole) may affect corticosteroid metabolism
