CYprodiol 2mg/35mcg – Hormonal Treatment for Acne & Androgen-Related Skin Conditions

CYprodiol Tablets contain a combination of Cyproterone Acetate (anti-androgen + progestogen) and Ethinyl Estradiol (synthetic estrogen). It is prescribed for women of reproductive age to treat hormone-related acne, very oily skin (seborrhea), and excessive hair growth (hirsutism).

This combination therapy works by reducing the effects of male hormones (androgens), which are a major contributor to hormonal acne and excess sebum production.

How Yprodiol Works
Cyproterone Acetate (Anti-Androgen & Progestational Agent)

Blocks androgen receptors through competitive inhibition

Reduces the effect of endogenous and exogenous male hormones

Decreases excessive sebaceous gland activity

Helps control hormonal acne and oily skin

Provides progestational (hormone-regulating) activity

Ethinyl Estradiol (Estrogen Component)

Inhibits ovulation

Alters cervical mucus to prevent sperm penetration

Modifies the endometrium to reduce the likelihood of implantation

Together, these hormones regulate the menstrual cycle while addressing androgen-dependent conditions such as acne and hirsutism.

Indications

Yprodiol Tablets are indicated for:

Moderate to severe hormonal acne in women

Excessively oily skin (seborrhea)

Hirsutism (excess hair growth)

It is intended for women of reproductive age who also require hormonal contraception.
