Lavit is an anticonvulsant medication that contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine. It is primarily prescribed to manage neurological and psychiatric conditions by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain.
Primary Uses
  • Epilepsy Management: Used alone or alongside other medications to control, prevent, and treat various types of seizures, including partial-onset seizures, generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. 

  • Bipolar Disorder: Utilized as a mood stabilizer to delay the time to occurrence of mood episodes (especially depressive episodes) in adults.
Important Considerations
  • Dosage: Lavit therapy requires a strict, gradual dose increase (titration) scheduled by your doctor to prevent severe side effects.
Serious Side Effects: Stop taking the medication and seek medical help immediately if you develop a rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes, or signs of an allergic reaction.Not a Cure: Lavit controls seizures and balances mood for as long as you continue taking it as directed.
